WRITING THE LITTORAL LANDSCAPE

The unique coastline of Long Island’s East End inspires and challenges writers to describe the intricate dynamic between light, sea, sand and sky. Writing the Littoral Landscape, a 4-session writing workshop combines experiential fieldwork with studio time for writing and constructive critique. Students will create short prose pieces and/or poetry while sharpening observational skills. Along with student’s own writing this class will investigate published texts which have explored this topic as we strengthen our own use of perspective, and developing voice. Short assignments will be given.
